perennial plant, from northern Asia, 3 to 4 ft tall (91 à 122cm) ,is impressive with its huge bright green, round, flat leaves with prominent veins. The petiole is attached to the center of these tropical looking leaves which are nearly 2 to 3 ft. in diameter (60 to 90 cm). In Quebec, its light paniculate bloom of cream-white colours resembles astilbes and rises above the foliage for a short time during July. Attracts butterflies.
