A semi-figurative painter of nature, Marie Diane Bessette seeks to communicate, to foster awareness of the essence of the fascinating living beings that are the birds and the native trees of Québec. She lives, and creates, in the Laurentians.
Painting the dance of the birds, principally the crow, the falcon, the goose and the eagle, understated beings with broad wings and feathers that spread like fingers, in the great circle of life.
The artist can’t help but say out loud:
“Everything is connected, the sap circulates in my veins with joy and pleasure and, mysteriously, emerges on the canvas as the object of an intuition that is beyond nature.”
“Marie Diane Bessette is an artist with a strong academic background and extensive training and development. An artist of quality… her approach is serious, her art firmly rooted, her world well grounded, moody. Her many semi-abstract compositions lead us down mysterious, complex and fascinating paths.”
